Welch Motorsport loses TBL ahead of Knockhill

Welch Motorsport has had one of its TBLs cancelled following the withdrawal of one of its cars for the upcoming Knockhill round.

The team have withdrawn the #12 car, previously driven by Andy Wilmot from the Scottish round, which goes against the TOCA BTCC Licensing system rules, which states that an entry unused for one round will void the TBL, except in the case of force majeure.

Welch Motorsport were absent from the previous round at Snetterton due to a parts supplier letting them down, which series organisers allowed as a case of force majeure.

TOCA have released the following statement:

‘Due to the withdrawal from the Knockhill Championship Meeting of Car No. 12, Welch Motorsport, the Administrator has subsequently cancelled the TBL (TOCA-BTCC Licence) associated with that entry forthwith.’

As a result of the TBL cancellation, Welch Motorsport will field only one Proton at Knockhill, with Dan Welch behind the wheel.
