Soft tyre choices announced for Knockhill

The soft tyre choices have been announced ahead of the seventh meeting of the British Touring Car Championship at Knockhill.

No fewer than 14 cars will start race one on the soft tyre, including championship leader Jason Plato, who is expected to start from the pitlane after a mechanical issue in qualifying saw the two-time champion only able to set the 22nd fastest time.

The only driver at the top of the points standings not on the soft tyre in the first race is Sam Tordoff. Starting the first race from second place, Tordoff will run the harder tyre, electing to run the softer rubber in race two.

The full list of tyre choices is as follows:

Race One: Colin Turkington, Mat Jackson, Robert Collard, Daniel Welch, Alex Martin, Matt Neal, Aron Smith, James Cole, Gordon Shedden, Andrew Jordan, Stewart Lines, Jason Plato, Rob Austin, Andy Priaulx.

Race Two: Sam Tordoff, Aiden Moffat, Derek Palmer, Kieran Gallagher, Jack Goff, Adam Morgan, Warren Scott, Jeff Smith, Robb Holland.

Race Three: Dave Newsham, Mike Bushell, Martin Depper, Hunter Abbott, Josh Cook, Tom Ingram.
