Four penalties handed out after Silverstone races
Three driving standards penalties and one technical penalty were handed out after the weekend’s racing at Silverstone, including a verbal warning for Jason Plato in the final race.
In race two, Power Maxed Racing’s Josh Cook was given a three-second penalty for contact with Aiden Moffat, dropping him to 14th behind the Scotsman’s Mercedes A-Class.
Also in the second race, Support Our Paras Racing’s Derek Palmer was given a verbal warning for contact with Rob Austin Racing’s Hunter Abbott. As it was his third strike of the season, he was sent to the back of the grid for the final race.
In the final encounter, Team BMR’s Plato was given a verbal warning for contact with Motorbase Performance’s James Cole, which saw the VW overtake the Ford for fourth place.
Stewards investigated West Surrey Racing’s Andy Priaulx for his pass for the lead on Motorbase Performance’s Mat Jackson in the second race, but ruled that no further action was necessary.
Honda Yuasa Racing were fined £500 for a technical breach related to the doors on their Civic Type-Rs. The doors need a tool to be removed, which isn’t allowed for safety reasons.
