Jason Plato’s Volkswagen to undergo engine change

Jason Plato’s Team BMR Volkswagen CC is undergoing an engine change ahead of the second race at Silverstone today.

Plato said issues with the Swindon powerplant had limited his performance in qualifying, where he took 10th on the grid.

Plato, who was running in 11th in the first race when he retired with a puncture on the penultimate lap, was still classified as a finisher and keeps his 11th place on the grid for the next encounter. He is now 21 points behind Honda Yuasa Racing’s Gordon Shedden in the title battle.
