Tom Ingram goes fastest with early lap in FP2

Tom Ingram continued his strong pace from FP1 at Thruxton with the fastest time in FP2, being the only man in the session to set a 1:16 lap time.

Ingram took the Speedworks Motorsport Toyota Avensis to the top of the standings with a 1:16.542 in the opening minutes of the session, a time that was never bettered and saw the round one winner sit atop the timesheets at the chequered flag.

Andrew Jordan, the fastest man in FP1, was second in the afternoon session, but could not match the pace he set in the morning, only managing to put in a lap of 1:17.045, half a second behind Ingram’s pace-setter.

It was a session to remember for Aiden Moffat, who showed some serious pace in his family-run Mercedes-Benz A-Class, posting the third fastest time, with Jack Goff and Ashley Sutton rounding out the top five.

The two Honda Civic Type-Rs of Team Dynamics struggled, with Shedden and Neal only able to manage 18th and 20th respectively, over a second and a half off the pace.

The session was halted temporarily for Chris Smiley stopping on circuit, which was the only major drama in the forty minutes, although Stewart Lines did find himself spinning and facing the wrong way at the chicane in the dying minutes, but avoided any significant damage.
