Matt Simpson switches to RML components

Matt Simpson will run RML components from Oulton Park onwards, switching from the GPRM parts he ran in the opening three weekends of the year.

The Speedworks Motorsport rookie has taken a handful of points in his first tastes of the BTCC, but admits that if he’s to move forward the switch to RML parts were needed.

The move signals the first time a driver has switched suppliers mid-season since RML took the role of parts supplier from GPRM over the off-season.

Simpson’s switch now means there are only seven cars left running solely GPRM components, the two Team BKR VWs of Mark Howard and Aron Smith, Stewart Lines’ Ford Focus, Dan Welch’s Proton, and the Toyota Avensis trio of Jake Hill, Mike Epps and Chris Smiley.
