Andrew Jordan targeting top four at Croft, fears rear-wheel drive cars will leap forward
Motorbase Performance’s Andrew Jordan has finished in the top three in both practice sessions today at the Croft circuit, but believes fighting for pole will be difficult against the rear-wheel driven BMWs and Subarus, all of which have held off from using new tyres so far in practice.
FP2 was led by Eurotech Racing’s Daniel Lloyd, who put together a quick lap on new tyres at the end of the session in his Honda Civic Type R, one of the front-wheel driven cars. Lloyd finished ahead of the also new-tyre-shod Toyota of Tom Ingram and the Ford of Andrew Jordan, while Sam Tordoff was fourth in the BMW 125i M Sport, the first of the rear-wheel driven cars, who’s also carrying 75kg of success ballast this weekend as a result of leading the championship.
“The car feels really good,” said Jordan to TouringCarTimes. “But I don’t know what the rear-wheel drives will do in qualifying.
“I’m happy with the balance of our car, it feels really comfortable at the minute”, added the 2013 champion. “If we got a top four in qualifying that’ll be a really good job, as the rear-wheel drive cars are going to be so strong here.”
