Rob Collard promoted to 13th at Croft after lap time reinstated

Rob Collard has been promoted from 16th to 13th on the grid for the first race of the day on Sunday, after the West Surrey Racing driver’s best lap time was reinstated by the officials after the end of qualifying.

Collard had originally been classified in 16th position, when his best lap was deleted by the time keepers during the session. The West Surrey Racing BMW driver had missed the last half of qualifying following contact with the Team Dynamics Honda of Matt Neal, which saw the two drivers unable to continue due to damage.

The BMW driver’s best lap time was reinstated by the stewards after it had been originally deleted for allegedly exceeding track limits. As a result, Collard will now start Race 1 from 13th on the grid, behind the Speedworks Toyota Avensis of Tom Ingram and ahead of the Team BKR Volkswagen CC of Aron Smith.
