Jake Hill happy despite missing top ten
Jake Hill declared himself pleased with his qualifying performance at Croft despite missing out on a second top ten starting slot of the British Touring Car Championship season.
The Team HARD driver emerged as one of the stars of the session at the wheel of his Toyota Avensis, with the youngster holding P2 prior to the stoppage caused by Matt Neal and Rob Collard coming together.
As others improved later on, Hill slipped back to eleventh on the grid but said he was still happy with his performance as he looks to challenge for some strong race day points.
“I’m happy with where we have ended up as we are there on merit and because of the fact we had some decent pace in the car,” he said. “I have to try and stay out of trouble now and the plan is to keep my position and then try to build on it and go forwards.
“I really need to pick up some solid points this weekend and whilst three top ten finishes would be fantastic, if I could come away with two then I think it would be a good result.
“The fact we are running the hard tyre this weekend throws something extra into the mix as we don’t know exactly how it will perform, so fingers crossed the strategy we have taken will pay off.”
