Rockingham option tyre choices announced

The option tyre choices for Rockingham have been announced. As usual, the choices were made before qualifying, so drivers were not able to decide based on their grid positions.

This weekend the option tyre will be the harder compound, as happened earlier this year in Croft. The most popular choice was using the Dunlop Sport Maxx tyre in the second race, as 14 drivers, including Subaru front-runner Colin Turkington and Race 1 pole sitter Gordon Shedden, elected to use the harder compound in the second heat.

After yesterday’s struggles in qualifying, championship leader Sam Tordoff will have time to make up for the ground lost as he chose to fit the option tyre on his WSR BMW in the third heat, just like title rival Matt Neal.
