Soft tyre selections for Silverstone race day announced

The soft tyre selections of the drivers for today’s races at Silverstone have been announced, with pole-sitter Ash Sutton opting to run the Dunlop Sport Maxx soft tyres in Race 2.

11 drivers have opted to run the soft tyres in Race 1, the best-placed of which is Ciceley Racing’s Adam Morgan in fifth, while Team Dynamics Honda driver Matt Neal is also running the softs in Race 1 and well placed in seventh on the grid.

The bulk of the field will run the soft tyres in Race 2, many of which had no option after having already used their three chances to choose races one or three, including Team BMR drivers Jason Plato and Colin Turkington.

Only four drivers will run the soft tyres in the final race of the day. Three of them are the Team HARD drivers Michael Epps, Jakes Hill and Tony Gilham, the other is Honda’s Gordon Shedden.
