Hard tyres mainly taken up for Races 2 & 3 at Donington Park

The option tyre selection for today’s races at Donington Park have been confirmed, with the threat of rain playing its part in the driver’s tyre choices this weekend, with 15 drivers opting to run the tyre in Race 2, and 15 in Race 3.

For this weekend, the option tyre is the hard compound, which only two drivers chose to run in Race 1, before rain is forecast to hit the circuit early afternoon.

The two drivers to choose the hard tyre for Race 1 are BTC Racing’s Dave Newsham, and Speedworks Toyota driver Tom Ingram, who starts third on the grid for Race 1.

The two Team Dynamics Hondas have opted to run the hard tyres in Race 2, while all three West Surrey Racing BMWs have opted to run the tyre in the third and final race of the day.

Race 1 pole-sitter Rob Austin will run the hard tyre in Race 2, though if it rains, the option tyre selection moves on to the next race of the day if that race happens to be dry.
