Triple Eight drivers put Race 1 incident behind them

The two Triple Eight drivers were eliminated from the first race at Donington Park whilst battling at the back of the top ten, after they were involved in an incident which included Team Parker Racing’s Josh Cook and Eurotech’s Jeff Smith.

The two Triple Eight MGs of Daniel Lloyd and Aron Taylor-Smith made contact at Redgate, with Lloyd’s car crashing out into the barriers, while Taylor-Smith limped back to the pits with a puncture, finishing the race one lap down and in 24th position.

“We’ve had a chat, all is good,” said Taylor-Smith. “Dan was caught up in a race, and it’s just one of those things where we were on the same piece of tarmac at the same time.”

Team-mate Lloyd’s car is frantically being repaired ahead of Race 2, where he’ll start 25th, one spot behind his team-mate.

“It was a shame, we were doing really well,” said Lloyd. “Into Turn 1, a lot of people came together. As I was coming across, Aron was on the inside and his front wheel just touched my rear wheel.”
