Andrew Jordan keen to build on Oulton success

Andrew Jordan says he is keen to build on the success he enjoyed at Oulton Park when the BTCC heads for Croft this weekend for the fifth meeting of the year.

The BMW Pirtek Racing driver rebounded from a tough run of form with a second victory of the year in Cheshire, with an additional podium finish helping him to move up to seventh in the championship standings.

Jordan will now seek to make up further ground at a circuit that has traditionally been a happy hunting ground for rear wheel drive cars, with his focus firmly on a bumper points haul to strengthen his challenge for the crown.

“Coming off such a strong weekend at Oulton Park, my confidence is on a real high heading to Croft,” he said. “It’s a circuit that has great memories for me as I took part in my first race there – and won – when I was 14, and also won there for the first time in the BTCC.

“Croft in the past has suited rear wheel drive cars, which should put us in a good position with the BMW, although I think the front wheel drive cars will also be strong – particularly in qualifying.

“It’s important that we play the long game as I feel the BMW will be good across a race distance, and whilst more wins and podiums are the aim, my focus is on three strong points finishes to help my championship position.”
