13 drivers opt to run the soft tyres in Race 1 at Snetterton
13 drivers will run the Dunlop soft tyre in the first race of the day at Snetterton, including pole-sitter Jack Goff, with the best-placed driver on the hard tyre the third-placed Subaru of Ash Sutton.
The tyre options for today have been announced, with an even mix of races selected across the field, with no rain forecast for the day.
The two West Surrey Racing BMWs of Colin Turkington and Rob Collard had already used up their Race 3 option allocations ahead of the weekend, as had Power Maxed Racing’s Tom Chilton, with each of the day’s three races only selectable three times each over the course of the season.
Turkington, who starts second, will run the soft tyre in Race 1, while Ash Sutton will keep his soft tyres for the final race of the day, starting in third.
Matt Neal, who starts fourth in the Team Dynamics Honda, and team-mate and points leader Gordon Shedden (21st) will run the soft tyres in Race 1, while Tom Ingram’s Toyota will keep his soft tyres for Race 2.
With BTC Racing’s Chris Smiley and Triple Eight’s Josh Cook opting to run the option tyre in Race 2, they’ve now used up their allocation of being able to run the tyre in the middle race of the day for the season.
