Team BMR hoping for their boost back for Scotland trip

Team BMR are expecting their boost levels to be restored ahead of this weekend’s round of the British Touring Car Championship at Knockhill, after the team’s four Subaru Levorg GTs had their boost reduced ahead of the third race two weeks’ ago at Snetterton.

Ash Sutton had won the first two races of the day in his Subaru, while team-mate James Cole started from pole position before the third race.

Just before the third race, the series organisers made a rare mid-weekend adjustment to the team’s turbo boost levels, which are used to equalise the performance of the championship’s five different engines.

“We know we’ve got a great car and a good engine, so as long as we’re allowed to stay with that power, which I think we will be, we’ll be there at the front,” said team principal Warren Scott to TouringCarTimes.

Scott admitted confusion but wasn’t frustrated by the adjustment to their Mountune-developed Subaru boxer engine ahead of the third race, and remained confident things would be redressed for Knockhill.

“I’m not sure why they changed it,” he added. “We were told to change it and we did it. Without a doubt, they’ll put us up, so I’m not worried. They’ll give us more boost.”
