Andrew Jordan accepts the blame for red flag incident

West Surrey Racing driver Andrew Jordan has accepted the blame for his race-ending incident in Knockhill Race 2, which resulted with a number of cars involved in an accident, and a very heavy crash for Power Maxed’s Senna Proctor and Team Parker Racing’s Stephen Jelley.

Jordan ran into the rear of Team Dynamics Honda driver Matt Neal heading to Duffus Dip, after the triple champion had backed off in a fight with Proctor and the Speedworks Toyota of Tom Ingram.

Neal was knocked sideways into Proctor which spun him around, who in turn collected Jordan and knocked him into the gravel.

But it was Proctor’s Astra, now facing backwards up the circuit which caused the commotion, with many cars clambering into each other in avoidance, one who didn’t was Stephen Jelley in the TPR Ford Focus, who hit Proctor’s Astra head-on, with both teams achieving a miracle to get the cars back out for the final race.

“I hit Matt Neal when he braked earlier than I was expecting for the first corner and then was hit at the next turn, which put me out,” said Jordan. “It wasn’t intentional, but I was the instigator and I have to take that on the chin.”

Jordan was fined £1,000 for the incident and given a three-point endorsement on his racing licence.
