Colin Turkington vows to leave ‘nothing on the table’

Colin Turkington says he will leave ‘nothing on the table’ as he looks to maintain his lead in the BTCC standings this weekend at Rockingham.

A triple podium last time out at Knockhill allowed the Team BMW driver to jump to the head of the standings, but he goes to Rockingham knowing that just 17 points cover the top four in the title race.

With maximum ballast on his car as a result of his position, Turkington will face an added challenge this weekend but he said he was in a good frame of mind and ready for battle.

“The pressure is certainly on, but I have confidence in my ability and in the car,” he said. “ We can only do our best.

“The car was fantastic at Knockhill and we really maximised the results as best we could. Despite the variable track conditions during the practice sessions on Saturday, we had a predictable car to race with on Sunday.

“Of course, that means I come to Rockingham with the heaviest car ballast-wise, and this presents its own challenges. But the BMW is one of the best-handling cars in the BTCC and this should give me a very good chance of scoring big points and maintaining the championship lead.

“We need to outwork our rivals in every department and leave absolutely nothing on the table.”
