Hard tyre choices confirmed for Rockingham

Dunlop have revealed the hard tyre option selection for today’s three races at Rockingham Motor Speedway, with pole-sitting Subaru driver James Cole having opted to run the unfancied hard tyre in the second race of the day.

16 drivers have opted to run the hard tyre in Race 1 to, in some drivers’ words, “get it out of the way”, while ten have chosen to run the tyre in Race 2, with just six drivers running the tyre in the final race of the day.

The highest-placed driver to be running the Dunlop SportMaxx hard tyre in Race 1 is Power Maxed Vauxhall driver Tom Chilton, from ninth on the grid.

Reigning champion Gordon Shedden will also run the hard tyre in the first race on his Honda Civic Type-R.

All four Team BMR Subarus have selected to run the option tyre in Race 2, while the two West Surrey Racing BMWs of Rob Collard and Andrew Jordan will run the tyre in Race 1, while Colin Turkington is locked in to running the option tyre in the second race for the remainder of the championship.

The six drivers to decide to run the tyre in Race 3 are Motorbase’s Mat Jackson, Speedworks’ Tom Ingram, Team Dynamics’ Matt Neal, AmD Tuning’s Ollie Jackson, Handy Motorsport’s Rob Austin and Triple Eight Racing’s Josh Cook.
