Andrew Jordan expecting tough Silverstone challenge

Andrew Jordan admits that a tough weekend may lie ahead for the rear-wheel drive cars but has vowed to push hard in the penultimate meeting of the BTCC season.

Jordan brought a tough run of form to an end last time out at Rockingham with a third victory of the season, which allowed him to move up to sixth in the championship standings.

The 2013 champion has been one of the form drivers at Silverstone in recent seasons, with three podium finishes in the last two years.

Recent history would suggest that a repeat of his victory twelve months ago will be a tough task for the WSR driver, with only two wins for rear-wheel drive cars at the circuit in the last ten years.

However, Jordan vowed to fight hard on race day and said he would do all he could to bring home a solid haul of points.

“Rockingham was a big boost, and the result in race three is one that we really deserved after some of the bad luck we’d had in recent meetings,” he said. “Heading to Silverstone, I’m expecting the racing to be super close as always, and it’ll be the same in qualifying where a few tenths could make all the difference.

“Silverstone may be quite a tough weekend for us as there aren’t many corners where we can really make of the most of the BMWs fantastic handling, and the corners that there are all lead onto long straights that will favour those cars that are quick in a straight line.

“Despite that, we’ll keep our heads down and work hard to maximise the package we have, and look to bring home as many points as possible from the three races.”
