TCR UK to run Brands Hatch sampler day

Organisers of the new TCR UK series have announced that a special sampler day will take place at Brands Hatch later this month to give potential entrants the chance to try out cars ahead of the 2018 campaign.

Cars representing seven different marques – Alfa Romeo, Audi, Hyundai, Honda, Opel, SEAT and Volkswagen – will be present alongside representatives from Peugeot.

Potential drivers will be given the chance to sample some of the cars on track, with factory drivers on hand to offer passenger rides in others.

Elsewhere, the series has confirmed that an official launch event will take place at Silverstone on 6 March ahead of the season opener at the same circuit later that month.

As well as announcing that Vital Equipment will be official fuel supplier, further details on the regulations for the series have been revealed, with the decision having been taken to use a specific Balance of Performance for the UK series, which is in addition to the overall BoP defined by the TCR Technical Committee.

The BoP TCR UK will operate as a rolling average across two events, which means it won’t come into play until round three of the campaign at Brands Hatch.

No changes to Balance of Performance will be made over the course of a race weekend.

Entry fees have been set at £16,995 plus VAT, although anyone entering before 31 December can pay a reduced fee of £14,995.

That entry fee covers all championship rounds as well exclusive tests at Knockhill, Castle Combe and Croft.
