BTCC confirms capacity entry for 60th anniversary season

Organisers of the British Touring Car Championship have confirmed that a capacity field of 32 cars will again do battle on track during the 2018 season.

Whilst the official entry list will not be revealed until the annual Media Day at Donington Park in March, teams had until the end of November to confirm that they planned to compete next season.

With entries having now closed, each of the TOCA BTCC Licences required to compete in the series have again been allocated – which includes the two ‘loan’ TBLs that are held by TOCA.

The exact make-up of the grid has yet to be made public, although TouringCarTimes understands that there are a number of changes compared to 2017, which will be revealed by individual teams in the coming weeks.

Only limited information has so far been revealed in terms of the driver line-up for 2018, with Rob Austin (HMS Racing), Andrew Jordan (WSR) and Bobby Thompson (Team HARD) the only three racers to have been named by competing teams, although others are believed to have already penned deals that are yet to be revealed.
