Teamwork Motorsport confirm Alex Hui and Sunny Wong for 2018 TCR China

Teamwork Motorsport have confirmed they’ll enter this year’s TCR China Touring Car Championship, running a pair of 2018-specification Volkswagen Golf GTI TCRs for Alex Hui and Sunny Wong, and aren’t ruling out adding a third car for an additional driver.

The Hong Kong-based team finished second in the teams’ championship last year, with Hui and Wong third and fourth in the drivers’ standings, with Wong taking two victories along the way, with a third race victory going to Jean-Karl Vernay, who joined them in Zhejiang, China.

The team have bought a new pair of Golf GTI TCRs, and have a third car which is also updated to 2018-specification as they target the title in their second season.

“Last year in TCR China, Teamwork had some good and bad races; we won and we learned together,” said team principal Paul Hui.

“This year we return to the series more prepared. Our drivers, Alex Hui and Sunny Wong, have been team-mates since our 2014 CTCC programme and their strong team spirit is definitely rare to see in motorsport.

“Since the regulations allow each car to be race by up to two drivers, Teamwork can be an ally for ambitious and resourceful drivers who want to take on new challenges in the China region, either with a shared car, or individually,” added Hui.
