Lo Sze Ho puts Kia on pole for TCR China Race 1 at Zhuhai

Hong Kong driver Lo Sze Ho has put the D Garage team’s Kia Cee’d TCR on pole position for the first race of the 2018 TCR China Touring Car Championship at Zhuhai.

Lo lapped the circuit with a time of 1:45.627 to take pole position in the sole Kia entered in the field, and the first for the STARD-built Kia in TCR competition, just beating Teamwork Motorsport’s Sunny Wong by a tenth of a second, with Wong in his Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR.

Qualifying in third was Malaysia driver Lai Wee Sing in the DRT Racing Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR, with Henry Ho in a new specification MacPro Racingr-un Honda Civc Type R FK8 TCR fourth fastest overall.

Wang Hao was fifth in the best-placed of NewFaster Racing’s Audi RS 3s, with James Tang sixth in the TCR Racing Honda Civic FK2 TCR.

Tang Carson in a NewFaster Audi, Li Lin in a LEO Racing Volkswagen, Jeronimo Badaraco in a Son Veng Racing Volkswagen and Terence Tse in a TRC Honda completed the top ten, all covered by two seconds.

Qualifying 2 is next up at 11am CST (5am CEST), with the second drivers aboard the cars, with Race 1 itself at 16:30 CST (10:30 CEST).
