Wang Hao tops qualifying in NewFaster Audi for TCR China Zhuhai Race 2

Wang Hao deprived Teamwork Motorsport’s Alex Hui of pole position in the second race of the TCR China Touring Car Championship weekend at Zhuhai, outqualfiying Hui by two-tenths of a second in the final moments of the session.

Hui had led the way in his Teamwork Motorsport Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR for the bulk of the session, before Wang’s improvement with just over five minutes to go put him back on pole.

Hui had to settle for second, with the #11 Golf set to start both of the two races from the outside of the front row.

Li Lin qualified his LEO Racing Volkswagen Golf in third, the only other driver under the 1:47 barrier, with Leong Ian Veng in the Son Veng Racing Volkswagen fourth fastest.

Eurico de Jesus in the #88 MacPro Racing Honda Civic Type R FK8 TCR qualified in fifth, six-tenths off the pace, with the #81 NewFaster Audi of Tang Carson sixth.

Miguel Kong was seventh quickest in the second-best of the new MacPro Hondas, with Terence Tse eigthh in the older specification FK2 Civic run by TRC Racing.

Edmand Chan in the D Garage Kia Cee’d TCR and Tian Li Ying in the HE Racing Volkswagen rounded out the top ten.

The first race, with the co-drivers from the earlier qualifying session takes place at 16:30 CST (10:30 CEST), with Race 2 based on this qualifying session on Sunday at 11:00 CST (05:00 CEST).
