DPE Motorsport Alfa Romeos withdraw from Brands Hatch

The Alfa Romeos of DPE Motorsport have withdrawn from this weekend’s round of the TCR UK Touring Car Championship at Brands Hatch, after suffering a number of maladies in qualifying yesterday.

The #76 Alfa Romeo Giulietta TCR of Robert Gilmour had qualified in seventh position, but suffered a broken valve at the end of the session.

Derek Palmer’s car missed qualifying with an engine issue, after showing strong pace in the earlier warm up and practice sessions.

With the team unable to repair the cars at the track, the team have opted to withdraw from the race and regroup at the next round of the championship at Castle Combe.

The number of entries for today’s two races is therefore reduced to 12 cars.
