Four verbal warnings handed out after Oulton Park weekend

Four drivers received verbal warnings after the Oulton Park race weekend for incidents during the three races, while there was a position reversal for Race 3, with Jake Hill’s Team Hard Volkswagen dropped behind James Cole’s Motorbase Ford for ninth due to a last lap incident.

The two West Surrey Racing drivers Rob Collard and Colin Turkington were both given a verbal warning for bump-passing their way past Brett Smith’s Eurotech Racing Honda Civic in Race 1, which are the first warnings of the season for the BMW pair.

Chris Smiley was given a verbal warning in Race 2 for “driving in a manner incompatible with safety”, after also making contact with Brett Smith. This counts as Smiley’s second strike of the season.

Team Dynamics’ Dan Cammish was given a verbal warning for an incident involving AmD Tuning’s Ollie Jackson in Race 3, while Hill and Cole were reversed, with the position swap not counted as a strike.

There were no penalties handed out for the start incidents of Race 2 or Race 3, with the five-car collision between the BTC Hondas, Team Hard’s Mike Bushell, AmD Tuning’s Rory Butcher and Ciceley’s Tom Oliphant which caused the last race to be red-flagged and restarted deemed a racing incident.
