Renaults withdrawn from TCR UK finale

The two Renault Méganes that were due to compete in the final rounds of the TCR UK season this weekend at Donington have been withdrawn from the meeting, taking the entry down to eleven cars.

The two Vuković Motorsport-run cars had been entered for Alex Morgan and an un-named second driver but were pulled from the entry after a technical issue arose following a test at Hockenheim.

The issue is something that couldn’t be resolved in time for the Donington meeting, with the team saying the decision to withdraw was the “correct one in the circumstances”.

“As a driver, I always want to be in the car racing and, whilst it would have been great to do so at Donington, we need to do what is in the best interest of the project,” Morgan said of the decision.

“My involvement with the Mégane TCR project throughout the year has been extremely rewarding as I’ve seen first hand how quickly the car has developed, especially since Brands Hatch. We’ll be out racing again very soon to showcase the car’s pace which I’m naturally looking forward to.”
