Matt Neal, Gordon Shedden reunite for Bathurst 12 Hours bid

Long time team-mates Matt Neal and Gordon Shedden are to join forces once again for an assault on the 2019 Bathurst 12 Hours.

The BTCC title winners will head to Australia for the race on the first weekend of February, where they will share a GT3-spec Audi Sport Team MPC-entered Audi R8 LMS in the Pro-Am class alongside fellow Brit Pete Storey.

Shedden has teamed with Storey on two occasions in the race in the past, retiring in 2014 whilst competing in a Lotus before taking 23rd twelve months later with an Aston Martin Vantage.

Neal meanwhile has prior experience of the iconic circuit having competed in the Bathurst 1000 on two occasions – including a second place finish back in the 1998 Super Touring race alongside Steven Richards.

“It’s a great combination and we’re really happy how it’s all come together,” team boss Troy Russell said. “All three drivers have been to Bathurst before and the experience that Matt and Gordon bring means they should be a good chance at having a crack at the Pro-Am class this year.

“We’ve assembled a strong team overall and are looking forward to more success for Audi on the Mountain this year.”
