Jake Hill penalised, Stephen Jelley inherits final Oulton Park race win

Trade Price Cars Racing’s Jake Hill has been stripped of his win in the final race of the day at Oulton Park, after stewards handed him a 20 second time penalty for his clash with Team Dynamics’ Matt Neal.

Hill clipped the rear-right of Neal’s Honda Civic Type R after being passed for the lead at the start of lap three, pitching the Civic into a huge spin.

The resulting chaos also ended the races of Speedworks Motorsport’s Tom Ingram and Power Maxed Racing’s Jason Plato.

The decision relegates Hill to 14th in the standings, with West Surrey Racing’s Tom Oliphant moving up to second in the race results, and Cobra Sport AmD’s Sam Tordoff promoted to the final podium position.

“I’m happy to have the memories of crossing the line first but I’m gutted to lose the win,” Hill said. “A tiny misjudgement from me and from Matt has caused the outcome and I’m so disappointed with the end result. There was no intention or malice on my part and it was just unfortunate. But the decision has been made and there is nothing I can do about it.”
