Dan Cammish vows to come out fighting

Dan Cammish has vowed to come out fighting on race day at Silverstone after qualifying seventh on the grid for the penultimate rounds of the BTCC season.

The Team Dynamics driver was on the pace throughout the two practice sessions at the Northamptonshire circuit, running in second place behind the Vauxhall of Jason Plato.

As times came down in qualifying, Cammish would ultimately slip back to seventh place despite his best time being just two-tenths of a second away from pole.

It means Cammish will line up just behind the BMW of Colin Turkington but ahead of Andrew Jordan, Josh Cook and Rory Butcher amongst the main protagonists in the title fight.

“When you go from P2 to P7 you wonder what happened there, but the speed went up and we were maxed – there was nothing left,” he said.

“We had a few little issues and it wasn’t as clean as it could have been and that was that. However, I’m just behind Colin and ahead of the others who are in the fight, so I can’t be too hard on myself.

“Today, it just wasn’t possible to fight for the front row with the weight onboard and it is what it is. We’ve just got to come out fighting tomorrow.”
