Pepe Oriola signs for Brutal Fish Racing

Pepe Oriola has signed for Brutal Fish Racing to race in the 2020 TCR Europe series season alongside already confirmed team-mates Dan Lloyd and Martin Ryba.

Oriola will race a Honda Civic Type-R TCR, with the team recently acquiring a third Honda from JAS Motorsport.

“I’m delighted to join Brutal Fish Racing Team for TCR Europe and to race the Honda Civic Type R,” said Oriola.

“The calendar and the level of the championship is amazing and I have to thank the team for their trust in me. I’m sure with Daniel and Martin we can achieve our goal, which is to fight for the title.

“After the global pandemic we all have been through, to be in such a professional team and championship for 2020 is an honour. I’m sure with my team-mates’ speed and experience, combined with my own, we will have a strong package.”

The Spaniard is an experienced touring car racer, most recently racing in the China Touring Car Championship and TCR Asia, finishing third overall, as well as winning the 2019 TCR Spa 500 endurance race.

“As we promised, here we are with our third driver; and what a fantastic addition to our team,” said team owner and driver Ryba.

“We are so happy to welcome Pepe to our Brutal Fish family. We know he is super-fast and competitive, has a lot of experience in TCR cars and will fit in very well after we became good friends last year.

“Even with the Corona virus pandemic causing the season to be shortened, I think we will have a very good campaign. With Pepe and Daniel, we are ready to fight for the both the Teams’ and Drivers’ titles.”
