Six car entry set for Oulton Park opener

A six car entry is set to contest the opening rounds of the new Touring Car Trophy / TCR UK Championship when it gets underway this weekend at Oulton Park.

The grid features a return for two race winners from the 2019 season alongside two drivers with prior experience of the series, with the grid completed by two drivers who will be appearing for the first time.

Lewis Kent, runner-up last year to James Turkington, heads the entry at the wheel of his Essex & Kent Motorsport-run Hyundai i30 N TCR and will renew battle with Henry Neal who continues at the wheel of his Team Dynamics Honda Civic – the only non-TCR car currently on the entry.

Darelle Wilson, a podium finisher last season at Croft, returns for a third season in his Vauxhall Astra whilst there is also a return for Tim Docker in the Volkswagen Golf he raced in a one-off outing at Oulton Park during the inaugural 2018 season.

New additions to the grid this season come in the form of Irish racer Max Hart and Dan Kirby, the boss of British Touring Car Championship outfit Trade Price Cars Racing – with both drivers at the wheel of Cupra TCRs.

Eleven cars from the Volkswagen Racing Cup will compete alongside the TCT/TCR UK field at the same time.

The weekend action will run solely on Saturday, with qualifying at 09:20 and then two 20 minute races at 13:45 and 17:05.
