Lu Wei makes it a perfect TCR China debut weekend for Lynk & Co

Lu Wei made it a perfect debut weekend in the TCR China championship at Zhuzhou for Shell Teamwork Lynk & Co Motorsport, winning the fourth and final race ahead of team-mate, and winner of the first three races, Ma Quing Hua.

Wei started from pole position and claimed the lead into the first corner.

Former WTCR driver Ma meanwhile came under pressure in second place from MG driver Rodolfo Advila.

The MG XPOWER driver made his way past Ma at the exit of Turn 2, only for the Lynk & Co driver to respond a couple of corners later to reclaim second position.

Ma then started to close in on Wei and was right on the rear bumper of his team-mate with four laps left.

But the Teamworks Motorsport duo remained in their positions, claiming a second 1-2 of the Zhuzhou International Circuit weekend.

Advila finished a distant third, ten seconds behind the leading duo, with Wu Yifan of Xinjun 326 Racing Team in fourth.

MG driver Cui Yue finished fifth ahead of Zhang Ziyi while Audi RS 3 LMS driver Yan Xi finished a lap down in seventh after pitting for a puncture following contact with Ziyi on the first lap.

Ma heads the championship on 69 points ahead of Advila on 54 points ahead of the next TCR China race that is scheduled for September 12-13 at Shanghai.
