Senna Proctor: “It’s now all or nothing for race day”
Senna Proctor insists that he will take an “all or nothing” approach into race day at Croft after his exclusion from qualifying dropped him to the back of the grid.
The EXCELR8 driver had put his Hyundai i30 N Fastback into third place in the session, which would have given him a new personal best having never previously made it higher than fifth on the grid.
However, Proctor – like pole man Tom Ingram – would then be stripped of his fastest time for failing the ride height test, which means he now has work to do at his home circuit to come from the back of the grid.
“I thought it [the roller] went under and couldn’t tell it didn’t from in the car, so in my head, I’d passed,” he said. “I got out of the car and was a little disappointed I wasn’t on pole, but had no idea what was to come!
“It’s a shame because the car was quick in qualifying and for me, it’s all or nothing tomorrow. We didn’t run new tyres in practice so we know we have more to come in the dry and we have to just try to make up places in race one and two to try and get the reverse grid for three.
“That wasn’t how I planned it having gone third fastest in qualifying but it is what it is, and we just have to push on tomorrow to come through from the back.”
