Norisring joins seven-round 2022 TCR Europe calendar

The 2022 calendar for the TCR Europe series has been unveiled, featuring seven rounds in Portugal, France, Belgium, Germany, Italy and Spain.

“We are delighted with this list of events that once again put us in the position to offer our competitors the opportunity of racing on some of the most iconic circuits all around Europe,” said Paulo Ferreira, promoter of TCR Europe.

“We are very grateful to the promoters of DTM and GT Open for welcoming us in their events and we are confident that the situation will allow motorsport fans to return to the track and enjoy some close battles between the TCR Europe drivers.”

The schedule features two new circuits, with Autódromo Internacional Algarve, Portimão hosting the season opener during the first weekend of May.

The iconic Norisring will host the fourth round of the series, followed by the Nürburgring in August.

A total of three rounds will be held alongside DTM, Portimão, Norisring and Nürburgring, the remaining with GT Open.

Paul Ricard in France will just as last year host the second round at the end of May, before heading to Spa Francorchamps in June.

The two final rounds are unchanged from last year, with Monza hosting the penultimate round at the end of September and Barcelona the season finale on October 15-16.
