Sébastien Loeb Racing makes Cupra switch with John Filippi

Sébastien Loeb Racing will switch from Hyundai to Cupra for the 2022 TCR Europe season and will enter a single León Competición for John Filippi.

“I’m really happy to be back with SLR. It’s a last minute deal with a new car, but it will be a good challenge and we feel confident because we know each other from before,” said Filippi to TouringCarTimes.

Filippi raced in TCR Europe two years ago, finishing second overall for Target Competition, and raced in PURE ETCR last year for Hyundai, finishing tenth overall.

Sébastien Loeb Racing ran four Hyundai Elantra N TCRs in TCR Europe last year for Niels Langeveld, Sami Taoufik, Felice Jelmini and Medhi Bennani, who has left for WTCR this year.

The team is currently evaluating the possibility to enter further cars later this season.
