Dan Rowbottom edges second practice at Oulton Park

Dan Rowbottom set the fastest lap of the weekend to date to lead the way in second practice ahead of the latest rounds of the BTCC season.

The Team Dynamics driver was able to dip slightly below the time set by Josh Cook in the opening session to lead the way in his Honda Civic Type R, with Tom Ingram once again impressing in his Hyundai.

Ingram set a time less than a tenth of a second slower to take second spot, with team-mate Dan Lloyd also on form as he set the third best time.

Perhaps the biggest surprise of the session was the improved pace from the Laser Tools Racing Infiniti of Aiden Moffat, with the Scot – who had scored only a handful of points so far this season – setting the fourth best time ahead of Gordon Shedden and Rory Butcher.

Butcher’s team-mate at Speedworks, Ricky Collard, was once again up inside the top ten with the Adam Morgan’s Ciceley Motorsport BMW and the Cupra of Bobby Thompson sitting between the two Toyotas.

Jake Hill then rounded out the top ten, with the likes of Ash Sutton (11th), Colin Turkington (16th) and Cook (17th) hoping for more from qualifying at 15:30.
