Adam Morgan hopeful of strong Thruxton display
Adam Morgan says he is keen to build on his strong showing last time out at Snetterton when the BTCC returns to Thruxton this weekend for the eighth meeting of the campaign.
The Ciceley Motorsport driver was on fine form in sweltering conditions in Norfolk as he grabbed a pair of top four finishes in the opening two races before taking eighth in race three.
That ended a rough run of form that had seen Morgan score just two top ten finishes in the previous nine races, and provided a boost in confidence ahead of the return to a circuit where he won earlier in the season.
“The frustrating thing with Snetterton is that those results were what we should have had at circuits like Oulton Park and Knockhill,” he said. “We know the car has the pace, but we suffered from three poor rounds that dropped us down the order so it was good at Snetterton to show that we can still do it.
“In George [Gamble] this season, I have a team-mate who can help to push me on, and we go to Thruxton in confident mood. We won there last time we visited and we know we have a good set-up to take into the weekend, so hopefully we can qualify well and score results similar to those we saw at Snetterton.”
