Gordon Shedden paces second practice
Gordon Shedden hit the front in the second free practice session ahead of the eighth meeting of the BTCC season at Thruxton.
Shedden left it late to make his move to the front of the field around the high-speed Hampshire circuit as he prevented Josh Cook from topping the time in his BTC Racing-run Civic.
The Scot would end up a tenth of a second clear at the front, with Jake Hill leading the rear-wheel drive challenge with the third quickest lap in his BMW.
That stopped Dan Rowbottom from making it a Honda 1-2-3 as he was left to settle for fourth, with Colin Turkington and Tom Chilton rounding out the top six.
Ash Hand’s strong showing in the PMR Vauxhall continued ahead of Jason Plato – with his car having undergone an engine change ahead of the session.
Ash Sutton and George Gamble rounded out the top ten.
