Dan Cammish tops opening practice at Brands Hatch

Dan Cammish topped the opening practice session at Brands Hatch to kick off the final meeting of the BTCC season.

Cammish left it late in the session to set the best time as he edged his NAPA Racing Ford Focus ahead of the Hyundai of title contender Tom Ingram.

The pair would end up split by 0.019s on the times, with Rory Butcher maintaining his recent strong form with the third best time in his Toyota.

Current points leader Ash Sutton was fourth best ahead of the Honda of Gordon Shedden and Ricky Collard’s Toyota rounding out the top six.

Colin Turkington and Jake Hill – the other two contenders – were seventh and tenth.

Cold weather conditions and a damp track led to some drivers electing to limit laps – with all three of the BTC Racing Hondas not chasing quick times.

Sam Osborne sat out the session with his Focus undergoing an engine change.
