George Jaxon confirms full-season programme with JW Bird

George Jaxon has become the latest driver to commit to the TCR UK Championship for the 2023 season after confirming plans to join forces with JW Bird Motorsport.

Jaxon made his debut in the series in the 2022 finale at Snetterton with Team HARD, scoring a best finish of eleventh at the wheel of a Cupra TCR.

Having taken the decision to make a full-time switch into the series, Jaxon will move over to JW Bird to drive a Cupra Leon Competición TCR similar to the one that the team ran for Matthew Wilson last year.

“My experience at Snetterton last year showed me that the best way forward for my racing career was in TCR UK and I’m excited to have put a deal in place to drive one of the new Cupra Leon Competición TCRs with Nick Beaumont’s squad, JWB Motorsport,” he said.

“I’ve been watching previous seasons’ races and TCR UK has seen growth in both 2021 and 2022 and I can’t wait to go racing full-time in 2023.

“I’ve got a full programme of testing in place to make sure that I can close in on my aim of taking regular top ten race finishes and maybe, the odd reverse gird pole position!”
