Lewis Brown makes TCR Europe switch

Lewis Brown has called time on his programme in TCR UK after a single meeting after confirming a move to TCR Europe with the Volcano Motorsport team.

Brown secured victory in the second race of the TCR UK season opener at Snetterton in a Chameleon Motorsport-run Cupra Leon Competición, but will now join forces with Volcano Motorsport for an assault on the Euopean series.

It means an all-English line-up for the Audi team, which has already announced it would run Issac Smith after he enjoyed a successful test in the the RS 3 LMS in Barcelona.

Smith and Brown were previously rivals in the MINI CHALLENGE UK.

“Initially, my 2023 plans were to race in TCR UK, however when the opportunity arose to join Volcano Motorsport in TCR Europe, I couldn’t turn it down!” Brown said. “Isaac Smith being in the team definitely helped with my decision to join Volcano. Having raced against him in other championships I know he’s a quick driver, so together we should be able to get the Audi RS 3 LMS to the sharp end of the field.

“Volcano are a race-winning proven team, so I’ll be in good hands for my first season in Europe. The step up to the European scene is going to be an extremely exciting one, especially with three rounds being part of the KUMHO TCR World Tour. I’m ready and raring to go for this new challenge, and I can’t wait for some wheel-to-wheel battles with the best of the best!”
