Petr Fulín claims dominant Race 1 win at Most

Former ETCC Champion Petr Fulín, who steps in for Sebastian Steibel this weekend, claimed a popular home race victory at Autodrom Most ahead of Petr Čížek and Mat’o Homola.

The Aditis Racing driver was fastest in qualifying with his Audi RS 3 LMS TCR ahead of Davit Kajaia and Čížek.

Fulín came under pressure from Čížek into Turn 1 as the lights went out, as Kajaia made a mistake and fell back to eighth place, later suffering from a loose front splitter.

Championship leader Homola got ahead of Kajaia’s team-mate Rene Kircher in the fight for third place in the first part of the race.

Both Adam Kout and Giacomo Ghermandi had problems going into Turn 1 on lap 11, with Kout locking up his front right tyre, while Ghermandi cut the chicane and went straight through the gravel, losing sixth place to Petr Fulín Jr.

Just as rain started to fall, Fulín crossed the finishing line on lap 15 to win the race ahead of Čížek and Homola.

Kircher was fourth at the checkquered flag, ahead of Kout, Fulín Jr and Ghermandi.

Homola leads the drivers’ standings with 169 points, with Kircher in second on 120 point and Kajaia in third on 117 points.

The second race of the TCR Eastern Europe weekend at Most is scheduled for Sunday at 12.10 CET.
