Practice accident forces Dan Cammish out
Dan Cammish will miss the remainder of the Donington Park GP meeting after his dramatic exit from the opening free practice session of the weekend.
The NAPA Racing UK driver had just set the fastest lap when he went off heavily at McLeans, resulting in extensive damage being caused to the rear of his Ford Focus.
Having been recovered to the pits to be examined by the team, it was quickly apparent that the damage to the car would be too great to be repaired at the circuit, with further examinations to be carried out back at base to determine whether it is economically viable for the chassis to be repaired.
The next round of the season is scheduled to take place in a months time at Silverstone, with the possibility that Cammish could be forced to switch into a different car, as was the case last season with Colin Turkington after his accident at Oulton Park.
