Mikel Azcona demoted to third following Sydney post-race penalty

Mikel Azcona has been dropped from second to third place in Sydney Motorsport Park Race 1 following a post-race penalty.

The Hyundai driver finished second but was handed a five-second penalty for weaving behind the safety car, just as title rival Yann Ehrlacher.

The penalty drops Azcona from second to third, elevating Ma Qing Hua to second place.

The BRC Hyundai driver keeps third in the standings, but loses three points to trail team-mate and points leader Norbert Michelisz and Ehrlacher by nine points instead of seven.
