Victor Weyrich tops first FIA TCR World Tour practice on debut
FIA TCR World Tour newcomer Victor Weyrich impressed by topping the first free practice session of the weekend at Paul Ricard, heading two fellow Frenchmen.
The Herrero Racing driver lapped the circuit in 1:31.941 to beat rival Cupra driver Aurélien Comte by 0.148 seconds.
Reigning champion and Geely Cyan Racing driver Yann Ehrlacher was third fastest, three tenths from the top time.
Ma Qing Hua put his Geely Preface TCR in fourth place, just 0.057 seconds behind his team-mate.
Mikel Azcona was fastest of the Hyundai drivers in fifth place, 0.419 seconds from the top time, with Cupra driver Teddy Clairet just 0.064 seconds slower in sixth.
Points leader Santiago Urrutia was seventh fastest, eight tenths behind Weyrich, while Jenson Brickley rounded off the top eight.
The second free practice session starts at 12:00 CET.
