Bert Taylor launches new team for 2024 programme

Experienced team owner Bert Taylor has announced the formation of Taylor Racing Developments for a programme in the 2024 TCR UK championship.

Taylor has been part of the paddock for the past two seasons with the Restart Racing team headed by son Ben, which will compete in the BTCC this year after acquiring a pair of Cupra Leon cars from Team HARD,

Taylor Sr however will not be involved with a return to the BTCC paddock having instead elected to go it alone, with details on the cars and drivers involved to be revealed in due course.

Restart Racing had run the Honda Civic for the past two years.

“I’m very proud to bring Taylor Racing Developments to the 2024 TCR UK Touring Car Championship,” Taylor said. “When we moved to TCR UK with Honda in 2022, it was clear how exciting and competitive TCR UK had become, with plenty of hard work going on behind the scenes from Stewart Lines, Nicki Lines and the team.

“Winning the title in 2022 was a massive reward for the team after all its efforts. Whilst 2023 required more hard work as the level of competitiveness grew, it’s also clear that the championship itself took another step forward and that’s why, for 2024, I’m back with a new team to take on the challenge of fighting for the top honours in TCR UK.”
