Jake Hill claims flawless race one victory at Thruxton

Jake Hill produced a flawless drive in the opening British Touring Car Championship race at Thruxton, tallying his third win of the season ahead of Dan Cammish and Ash Sutton.

Starting from third on the grid, the West Surrey Racing driver made a lightening start to power through the middle of the front row starters and hit the front by the time the field filed through Allard.

Despite having to contend with a brief safety car in the early exchanges, Hill never really put a foot wrong and comfortably romped to top step of the podium.

Behind, Alliance Racing’s Cammish and Sutton were thick as thieves for a majority of the contest as they completed the podium while pole sitter Tom Ingram – who made a sluggish start – recovered to finish fourth.

Dan Rowbottom completed the top five after enduring a feisty few laps early on, with Josh Cook coming home in sixth as the lead Toyota.

Completing the top ten was Tom Chilton, Adam Morgan, Colin Turkington and Aron Taylor-Smith.
