Aron Taylor-Smith hails team effort ahead of front row start
Power Maxed Racing’s Aron Taylor-Smith has heaped praise on his team after qualifying on the front row in the British Touring Car Championship at Knockhill.
The Vauxhall Astra driver emerged as one of the stars of the show on Saturday at the Fife venue as he qualified within 0.035s of pole sitter Colin Turkington.
Set to start the opening race of the day from second, Taylor-Smith has a first victory since 2016 in the UK’s premier motorsport series firmly on his radar.
“I looked down at the dash and thought ‘that seems very fast’ and then I went slightly quicker again,” said the Irishman after qualifying.
“Just to be in contention against some of these manufacturer teams is something that everyone at Evans Halshaw Power Maxed Racing should be really proud of – everything has just clicked.
“I feel like I can push on in this race and I want to try and get this team a win again.”
